Oggetto dello studio qui presentato è la ricostruzione di un intercolumnio del fronte esterno del Tempio di Zeus ad Agrigento, basata sul rilievo del Telamone oggi custodito presso il Museo Archeologico, sugli studi e i numerosi saggi di ricostruzione proposti dagli studiosi dal XVIII secolo fino alla metà dello scorso secolo e sulla analisi strutturale del Telamone ricostruito nel Museo. Il presente studio approfondisce le tematiche, su esposte, ponendo l’attenzione sull’edificio storico “Il Grande Albergo Castello Utveggio”, che - per scelta di luogo e di destinazione d’uso, eccezionale per avvenimenti tecnici e costruttivi finalizzati a realizzarlo - presenta caratteristiche peculiari di identità di luogo fortemente correlato con la città di Palermo, con il paesaggio della Conca d’Oro e con il territorio. Posto sulla sommità del Primo Pizzo nel settore meridionale del Monte Pellegrino a 346 m s.l.m., è rivolto verso la città e il porto, fu progettato dall’architetto Giovan Battista Santangelo e realizzato nei primi decenni del ‘900.

In particular, the 3D survey by terrestrial laser scanning has become a common practice for 3D archaeological data collection. Il contributo riguarda il rilievo di un’area di circa 20 ettari interessata da una imponente frana e ubicata nei pressi del centro abitato di Caronia in Sicilia. La frana ha provocato il crollo e lo spostamento di diverse unità abitative, nonché la quasi totale distruzione delle vie carrabili. Il rilievo è stato condotto con metodi GPS, topografici e laser scanner al fine di verificare la morfologia dell’area successiva all’evento franoso. International audience; Digital correlation method is widely used in experimental mechanics to obtain the deformation field. Currently this method is applied with digital images of the initial and deformed surface sprayed with black or white painting. Speckle patterns are then captured and the correlation can be made with high 0.01 pixel accuracy in 2D-cases. In three-dimensions, the stereo-correlation can be used with a lower accuracy. Over the last few years topographical techniques have developed an exponential trend towards simplifying and speeding, both survey operations and analysis of data collected reaching at the same time ever higher levels of accuracy.
